p‾p annihilation at rest into KLK±π∓

  • We present a measurement and partial wave analysis of the final state (Formula presented) of (Formula presented) annihilation at rest in liquid hydrogen. This reaction is important for the study of the (Formula presented) decay mode of scalar resonances, in particular, the isovectors (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) The determination of the (Formula presented) production also fixes the (Formula presented) coupling of the isoscalar (Formula presented) which is discussed as a glueball. We find (Formula presented) and hence (Formula presented) The mass and width of (Formula presented) are (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) respectively. For (Formula presented) we determine the relative ratio (Formula presented) =0.23±0.05 and its relative coupling, (Formula presented) to πη, is (Formula presented). © 1998 The American Physical Society.
