Beschreibung:
  • The Aksimaros is an Ethiopic translation of the Arabic Aksīmārīs, itself translated from the Greek Hexaemeron ascribed to Ephiphanius of Salamis. The Ethiopic version was most probably produced in the fifteenth century. It describes the six days of Creation in more detail than Genesis. The creation of earth and (three) heavens, angels and their fall, the creation of all living creatures, and, finally, the creation and the fall of mankind are among the featured accounts. Due to these topics the Aksimaros is classified as part of the Hexaemeral/Creational, Angelic and Adamic literature.
