The right balance of attachment and discipline in parenting remains a controversial topic. Often, the two aspects are regarded as opposites, and a look back in time highlights their implications for the psychosocial development of children and young people. Educational and psychotherapeutic aspects are closely intertwined, something of relevance in particular in the context of child and adolescent psychiatry and as regards the development of personality disorders.
Das richtige Verhältnis von Bindung und Disziplin in der Kindererziehung ist nach wie vor umstritten. Ein historischer Rückblick verdeutlicht den Einfluss, den die häufig als Gegensatzpaar verwendeten Begriffe auf die psychosoziale Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen haben. Pädagogische und psychotherapeutische Aspekte sind eng miteinander verknüpft, was insbesondere im Bereich der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und bezüglich der Entstehung von Persönlichkeitsstörungen relevant ist.
