  • In this note similarities are characterized by invariance properties. A q-measure for angles-which generalizes the usual angle-measure - is defined by means of a quadratic form q on the underlying vector space (V,K). It is shown that, except for few cases, collineations which preserve this q-measure are similarities. Our considerations include the spaces of infinite dimension and of characteristic 2. © 1989 Birkhäuser Verlag.
