Given a bimonoidal category with anti-involution, for example a braided bimonoidalcategory, the author constructs an involution on the algebraicK-theory of the associatedring spectrum. This involution agrees with the classical involution for a bimonoidalcategory associated to a ring. It is nontrivial in connective topologicalK-theory and inthe algebraicK-theory of spaces.
