Beschreibung:
  • These files contain GAMS programs for the global assessment of climate and societal development scenarios on food supply capacities and food demand in regions classified as biodiversity hotspots. The associated scientific manuscript is titled "Food versus wildlife: will biodiversity hotspots benefit from healthier diets?"

model_equations: This file contains the coding of different optimization models to assess how much food can be produced under given climate situations and adaptation restrictions. Different adaptation restrictions include a) keeping crop management systems constant, b) allowing crop management to intensify without changes in local crop areas, and c) allowing both crop mixes and crop management intensities to change.

model_solve: This file contains the model solution loop, where a sequence of adaptation restrictions is solved with associated GAMS models.

process_solution: This file contains the post-solution computations to determine the change in land pressure on biodiversity hotspots under particular climate change, population growth, income development, and diet scenarios.
