Editor’s introduction to the Research Handbook on the Brussels Ibis Regulation

The Brussels Ibis Regulation is the magna carta of international procedural law in Europe. The Brussels I/Ibis system, commencing with the original Brussels Convention in 1968, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. However, it has to stand up to challenges posed both by the overall system of EU law and by modernday litigation. The aim and purpose of the present book is to explore some related ‘dark edges’.
