Spatial fluctuations of the density of states in magnetic fields observed with scanning tunneling spectroscopy

Beschreibung:
  • A semiconductor surface [InAs(110)] in magnetic field was studied using spatially resolved scanning tunneling spectroscopy. Two distinct B dependent changes in dI/dV images were observed. The more obvious change is a contrast on the 50 nm scale. The second change concerns the appearance of scattering states in magnetic field.
