Beschreibung:
  • Green infrastructure for heat protection in cities: According to current climate projections, the increase in the number and intensity of heatwaves in many regions of the world associated with climate change will continue in the coming decades. People in cities are particularly affected by this development. The expansion of urban green spaces can make a significant, nature-oriented contribution to climate adaptation in many cities. The focus of this article is on urban trees, which have a particularly large cooling potential through shading and evaporation. The importance of general site issues and soil properties is also emphasized.
