Cloud computing has attracted and is still attracting a lot of interest both in practice and in academia offering a variety of flexible, on-demand, and highly scalable computing services. The associated flexibility and cost effectiveness make cloud computing a valuable option for organizations in the public and private sectors. The success of cloud computing adoption, however, is highly dependent on efficient decision making. Both from the consumer's and from the vendor's perspective, the implications of decisions need to be quantifiable to allow a comparison of alternatives. Decision analytics provides means to choose the best course of action and to make predictive statements under uncertainty and information asymmetry. In this paper, we present a classification of decision analytics in the area of cloud computing and provide a literature review on related decision problems. We thereby provide a comprehensive overview of models and techniques applied to support cloud computing related decision making. Two case studies are presented to demonstrate the potentials of cloud computing as a basis for decision analytics.
