Anpassungsmaßnahmen im Sektor Gesundheit

Adaptation measures in the health sector: Extreme weather events such as heatwaves, floods, droughts, and fires have increased in frequency and intensity and will continue to do so due to climate change. These extremes lead to direct and indirect health risks, affecting both physical health and causing psychological stress. Particularly vulnerable groups include the elderly, children, pregnant women, and outdoor workers. The health sector must adapt to be prepared for these challenges. Recommendations include structural and behavioral prevention, urban health planning, monitoring, digital technologies, medical information and education, communication, promotion of research, and intersectoral cooperation. The AdaptNet project develops adaptation measures for outpatient care to protect the health of the population in times of climate change. The implementation of climate adaptation measures is currently insufficient. Tailored solutions are required to meet local needs.
