Situation-specific skills are considered to be of crucial importance for professional action of teachers, especially in inclusive physical education (PE). In order to ensure an appropriate consideration of the processes of participating and being a part by all students in the planning and implementation of lessons, teachers must focus their attention on events in a complex and interactive gym situation that are relevant for the participation of the students and interpret them in a professional way. Situation-specific skills of perception and interpretation are regarded as a central prerequisite for enabling the PE teacher to provide all students with participation in PE. There are not yet any instruments for the valid psychometric measurement of these skills in the area of participation in inclusive PE. In the context of this chapter, the development and validation of a standardized, video vignette–based test instrument for the measurement of the situation-specific skills perception and interpretation of prospective PE teachers with regard to providing participation in inclusive PE is presented. The validation focuses on the content of the test and the internal structure of the instrument as well as on correlations with conceptually related constructs. The findings to date indicate that the test instrument ViProQiS_P was able to provide a standardized measurement of the defined construct.
