Beschreibung:
  • XRF (Elio: 40kV, 80 µA, spot measurements of 120s each) and  reflectography (DinoLite: x50 magnification for spots on ink and pigment, x200 magnification for spots on support, vis, NIR and UV light) analysis of inks and pigments (for Cpt823) from Coptic manuscritps  Mss. Cpt. 2018 (4th century CE, Dishna), 2026 (341-400 CE, Dishna), 804 (4th-7th century CE, unknown origin), 809 (3rd-4th century CE, unknown origin), 813 (6th century CE, Apa Jeremiah), 814 (7th century CE, Apa Jeremiah), 815 (8th century CE, Apa Jeremiah), 823 (4th-7th century CE, unknown origin), 829 (unknown date and origin), 831 (4th-7th century CE, uknown origin), 832 (4th century CE, unknown origin) and  2020-2 (4th century CE, Dishna) from Dublin Chester Beatty Library (Ireland). Some manuscritps were investigated only with reflectography as removing them from their glass frame could damage them.

    Results of this dataset appear in Ghigo, Tea, "A Systematic Scientific Study of Coptic Inks from the Late Roman Period to the Middle Ages", PhD dissertation, Berlin-Rome 2020.
