Transnationale (Aus-)Bildungs- und Zukunftsorientierungen:Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung unter zugewanderten Jugendlichen portugiesischer Herkunft
In diesem Beitrag werden (Aus-)Bildungslaufbahnen und Zukunftsorientierungen von Jugendlichen aus zugewanderten Familien auf der Grundlage neuerer Konzepte der Migrationsforschung betrachtet. Um diese Konzepte, die zur Erfassung von durch Mobilität geprägten Lebenswelten entwickelt wurden, geht es einleitend in einem Abschnitt über die ‘transnationale Forschungsperspektive’. Im Anschluss daran werden Ergebnisse aus einer Untersuchung über die Orientierungen von Jugendlichen portugiesischer Herkunft beim Übergang von der Schule in die Arbeitswelt vorgestellt Dabei wird der Blick auf die Sozialisation in transnationalen Sozialräumen und auf die Bedeutung transnationaler (Aus-)Bildungslaufbahnen gerichtet, die anhand von drei Fallbeispielen illustriert werden. Auf der Grundlage der Untersuchungsergebnisse werden abschließend Fragen nach den Bedingungen von (Aus-)Bildungserfolg und sozialer Positionierung im Kontext transnationaler Migration diskutiert.
Transnational paths of learning and future orientation — Results of a survey of young portuguese immigrants
In this contribution, the paths of learning and orientation towards the future of young people from immigrant families will be viewed using recent concepts from the field of migration research. Introducing transnational research, concepts for recording individual life-worlds shaped by mobility will be discussed. Following on from this, the results from a study on the orientation of young Portuguese at the transition from school to job will be presented. Particular attention will be payed to their socialization in transnational social domains and to the significance of transnational paths of learning, which will be illustrated using three case studies. Finally, on the basis of the results of the study, questions concerning preconditions for learning success and social positioning will be discussed in the context of transnational migration.
