- The dynamic far-infrared response of antidot arrays in a magnetic field is dominated by a high- and a low-frequency mode, which are both cyclotronlike polarized. Theory predicts also anticyclotron modes. However, these modes have intrinsically a very low oscillator strength and thus have not been observed so far. We have detected these modes in arrays with optimized antidot potentials and find excellent agreement with theory for the magnetic-field dependence of the resonance frequencies, the oscillator strength, and the polarization. © 1999 The American Physical Society.
