The bryozoan fauna from the Gray Mesa Formation (Pennsylvanian) of the Fra Cristobal Mountains, New Mexico, comprises five species: the cystoporate Fistulipora nodulifera Meek, 1872, trepostome Stenopora spinulosa Rogers, 1900, two rhabdomesine cryptostomes Pseudorhabdomeson minus (Moore, 1929) and Rhombopora lepidodendroides Meek, 1872, as well as the fenestrate (phylloporine) Rhombocladia delicata Rogers, 1900. The studied fauna shows dominance of erect branched growth forms, which, together with microfacies characteristics, indicate the depositional environment of the Gray Mesa Formation as a low-energy, deeper shelf environment below wave base within the photic zone. The identified bryozoans show strong palaeobiogeographic relationships to the Pennsylvanian of North America, as well as some similarity to the Pennsylvanian of Europe (Spain) and South America (Bolivia).
