Beschreibung:
  • This chapter discusses Egyptian bioethics, which functions as the place for Egyptians to freely negotiate their values and vision of Egyptian society. It identifies the key actors in the field of Egyptian bioethics across a spectrum of government religious and non-religious actors, non-Egyptian actors, and the media. The chapter concludes with a presentation of two short case studies that relate to sexual mores and the role of women in Egyptian society, revealing a heightened cultural meaning and emphasis on how to control female sexuality through Egyptian bioethics.
