Matter suppression of collective supernova neutrino oscillations

  • We carry out a detailed analysis of the supernova (SN) neutrino flavor evolution during the early time accretion phase (post-bounce times t(pb) <= 500ms), characterizing the. signal by recent SN hydrodynamics simulations. We find that trajectory-dependent ``multi-angle{''} effects associated with the dense ordinary matter suppress collective oscillations induced by the v-v interaction in the deepest SN regions.
