Narrative Konstitutions- und Stabilisierungsangebote kollektiver ‚rechter‘ Identität in religionsbezogener Kommunikation
This contribution shows how collective ‚right-wing‘ identity is constituted and stabilized in religion-related communication. It becomes clear that the affordances of identityforming offers of identification are inherent in the construction of certain narratives. This becomes exemplary through the contouring of a right-wing populist (religiously colored) master narrative: Forced distinction definitions aim at a certain structuring of the perception of social reality. To make this happen, communication participants make use of the figure of anti-elitism on a synchronic level and, from a diachronic perspective, the vitalization of the idea of a heartland that stands in sharp contrast to the crisis-ridden present. It can be assumed that both moments of potentially (group) identity-forming offers of identification not least affectively favor the discursive receptivity and productivity not only of the master narrative, but also of corresponding right-wing populist narrative fragments. Although Gary Alan Fine’s classification of socalled „movement stories“ cannot be applied one-to-one to the material of the project, the re-reading of the material through the lens of differentiation into „horror stories“, „war stories“ and „happy endings“ once again sheds light on the different narrative possibilities and realizations of potentially identity-forming offers of identification in right-wing populist, even right-wing extremist, communications.
Der vorliegende Beitrag zeigt narrative Konstitutions- und Stabilisierungsangebote kollektiver ,rechter‘ Identität in religionsbezogener Kommunikation auf. Dabei wird deutlich, dass die Affordanzen identitätsbildender Identifikationsangebote in der Konstruktion bestimmter Narrative angelegt sind. Exemplarisch zeigt sich dies über die Konturierung eines rechtspopulistischen (religiös getönten) Masternarrativs: Forcierte Distinktionsbestimmungen zielen auf eine bestimmte Strukturierung der Wahrnehmung sozialer Realität ab. Dazu bedienen sich Kommunikationsteilnehmer:innen auf synchroner Ebene der Figur des Anti-Elitismus, in diachroner Perspektive der Vitalisierung der Vorstellung eines ,heartlands‘, das in scharfem Kontrast zur krisenhaft beschriebenen Gegenwart steht. Beide Momente der potenziell (gruppen-)identitätsbildenden Angebote, so ist anzunehmen, begünstigen nicht zuletzt affektiv die diskursive Rezeptivität und Produktivität nicht nur des Masternarrativs, sondern auch entsprechender rechtspopulistischer Narrativfragmente. Wenngleich Gary Alan Fines Klassifizierung sogenannter „movement stories“ nicht eins zu eins auf das Material des Projektes anwendbar ist, so lässt die Relektüre des Materials mit der Brille der Ausdifferenzierung in „horror stories“, „war stories“ und „happy endings“ noch einmal die unterschiedlichen narrativen Möglichkeiten und Realisierungen potenziell identitätsstiftender Identifikationsangebote in rechtspopulistischer, gar als rechtsextrem zu bezeichnenden Kommunikationen aufleuchten.
