The article presents the idea of a praxeological construction site research in its potential for knowledge and its methodological orientation. Using ethnographic data collected during several months of following a road construction site, I observe the construction site as a set of practices. Three analytical themes are highlighted: the relationality of disturbance and situated everyday life, the socio-material coupling of construction site and environment, and the negotiation of different habitats of humans, flora, and fauna through everyday practices. In sociological terms, the multi-layered knowledge of the construction site understood in this way serves as a repository for integrated and practically effective access to disruptions of everyday spaces and makes work on infrastructures visible as situated and spatially unfolding practices. In conclusion, the utility of a comparative, empirical-qualitative sociology of construction sites is indicated.
Der Beitrag skizziert eine praxeologische Baustellenforschung in ihrem Erkenntnispotenzial und methodologischer Ausrichtung. Anhand ethnografischer Daten, die bei der mehrmonatigen Begleitung einer Straßenbaustelle erhoben wurden, beobachte ich die Baustelle als Praxis. Es werden dabei drei analytische Themen herausgestellt: die Relationalität von Störung und situierter Alltag, die sozio-materielle Kopplung von Baustelle und Umgebung sowie die Aushandlung unterschiedlicher Lebensräume von Menschen, Flora und Fauna mittels alltäglicher Praktiken. Das so verstandene vielschichtige Wissen der Baustelle dient in soziologischer Hinsicht als Fundus für integrierte und praktisch wirksame Zugriffe auf Störungen alltäglicher Räume und macht die Arbeit an Infrastrukturen als verortete und sich räumlich entfaltende Praktiken einsehbar. Abschließend wird der Nutzen einer vergleichenden, empirisch-qualitativen Soziologie der Baustelle angezeigt.
