Beschreibung:
  • Geographic information systems (GIS) are essential to facilitate digital soil mapping (DSM) and soil modeling (pedometrics) and have moved from personal desktop, client-server, to cloud-based geodata and geoprocessing engines. Soil information systems disseminate geographic soil data as vector-based map units or grids. Artificial intelligence (AI) geospatial soil models provide excellent predictive capabilities, though AI cloud-based GIS and geotechnologies have raised numerous ethical concerns. Soil and environmental geodata support pedometrics applications and soil as well as land and Earth simulation models to assess soil health, soil security, soil ecosystem services, soil erosion, global climate change and carbon sequestration, and other broad topics of global importance.
