Die soziographische Skizze, wie sie sich in den 1830er Jahren als journalistisch-literarisches Genre konsolidierte, führte als heterogene Textform künstlerische und wissenschaftliche Elemente in marktgerechter Kurzweiligkeit zusammen. Dieser Beitrag behandelt verschiedene mediale/epistemische Regimes oder Wissenskonfigurationen, welche die Entwicklung der soziographischen Skizze als ein Medium gesellschaftlicher Selbstbeobachtung beeinflusst haben. Dabei entwirft er transmediale und -disziplinäre Perspektiven auf die Institutionalisierung der Kultur- und Sozialforschung im neunzehnten Jahrhundert.
The sociographic sketch, which solidified as a journalistic genre in the 1830s, is a highly heterogeneous text form. It brought together artistic and scientific elements in an entertaining and market-driven way. This contribution deals with various media/epistemic regimes or configurations of knowledge that have influenced the evolution of the sociographic sketch as a medium of social self-observation. In doing so, it develops cross-genre and cross-disciplinary perspectives on the refinement of social research in the nineteenth century.
