Beschreibung:
  • Direct use of CO2: In contrast to the use of CO2 after a chemical conversion, the direct use of carbon dioxide is a common process in most cases. CO2 is used in greenhouses, for example, to promote plant growth, whereby fossil emissions can be saved with climate-compatible CO2 sources. Depending on its origin, the use of CO2 in oil production can also contribute to reduce emissions. A promising application is the CO2 absorption by microalgae, whose biomass can be used in many ways. A broad but quantitatively less relevant field is the use of CO2 as an extraction and cleaning agent, in medicine and in the food industry.
