- Heute freuen wir uns gemeinsam mit decolonize uhh auf einen inspirierenden englischsprachigen Vortrag von Carlos Tello von der @ag.kggu mit dem Titel „Decolonising Climate Narratives: Development, Conservation, and Pluriversal Hybrid Worlds in the Brazilian Amazon“. Er spricht darüber, was passiert, wenn wir Klimanarrative dekolonisieren und die Sichtweisen der Menschen im Amazonasgebiet ernst nehmen. Wie denken lokale Gemeinschaften dort über Natur, Entwicklung und Schutz, und was bedeutet das für globale Klimagerechtigkeit? Anhand seiner Forschung in Brasilien zeigt Tello, wie Communities ihre Welt aktiv gestalten und lädt dazu ein, die Klimakrise nicht nur von außen zu betrachten („der Amazonas brennt“), sondern auch aus der Perspektive der Menschen im Regenwald. ENG: Together with decolonize uhh, we’re excited to welcome Carlos Tello from @ag.kggu tonight for his English-language talk “Decolonising Climate Narratives: Development, Conservation, and Pluriversal Hybrid Worlds in the Brazilian Amazon.” He’ll explore what happens when we decolonize climate narratives and take the perspectives of people living in the Amazon seriously. How do local communities understand nature, development, and conservation, and what can their worldviews teach us about global climate (in)justice? Drawing on his research in Brazil, Tello shows how communities actively shape their worlds and invites us to rethink the climate crisis. Not just from an outside perspective (“the Amazon is burning”) but through the eyes of those who live within the rainforest.
