Der Aufsatz erforscht die Proteste gegen die Corona-Maßnahmen in deutschen Städten als spezifische Form der affektiven Raumnahme und der narrativen Verflechtung. Durch mehrmonatige Feldforschung auf den Kundgebungen in Hamburg und den Großdemonstrationen in Berlin sowie Interviews mit Beteiligten wird das in rechten, spirituellen und QAnon-Milieus anschlussfähige Narrativ des »Erwachens« herausgearbeitet, das eine unpolitische Subjektivität nahelegt, die sich als Kontrastfolie zu antirassistischen und klimabewegten Kämpfen zeigt.
The article analyses the protests against the Corona measures in German cities through their affective and narrative claims. Building on field research conducted during the rallies in Hamburg and the large demonstrations in Berlin, it carves out the narrative of a »great awakening« resonating in rightwing, spiritual and QAnon milieus. This narrative suggests an apolitical subjectivity that is in sharp contrast to the antiracist and climate activist struggles of our times.
