The GLOBALINTO project takes its inspiration from the Finnish word for enthusiasm, namely “into”. The project aims to develop and refine measures of intangibles at the micro (firm), meso (sectoral) and macro (economy) levels and to use these measures to analyze the causes of the productivity slowdown in Europe and how its productivity growth can be improved. This Policy Brief gives an overview of our findings to date on the impact of intangibles on labour productivity growth at the country and sectoral levels. It recommends policies that focus on enhancing economic growth in Europe and closing the productivity gap between the EU and the US.
