- Rudi Laermans is professor of Sociology at the University of Leuven, Belgium, dramaturg as well as visiting professor for Social and Cultural Theory at P.A.R.T.S in Bruxelles. His fields of research are: Social system theory, critical theory and sociology of creative work. He has published on Niklas Luhmann, Georg Simmel and Pierre Bourdieu as well as on contemporary dance and performance as for example the works of Jan Fabre, Meg Stuart, A.T. de Keersmaeker and Jan Lauwers.
