Summary & recommendations for "oceanography and synergy between gravity and altimetry"

Various recommendations for oceanography and synergy between gravity and altimetry are discussed. Recommendations arose from optimal exploitation of future GOCE measurements by the oceanographic community. The covered issues included the synergy between GRACE and GOCE projects, the GOCE products, and the potential ancillary data. The applications of GRACE results indicated an enhanced agreement with ocean information. The primary requirement of oceanographers is to have access to geoid at the highest resolution and accuracy possible. Resolution depends on application, minimum resolution would be about 100km with a cumulative error not exceeding 1-2 cm.
