  • The current state of the economy and technology development requires cross-functional, horizontal management of shared information. Organizations deploys technologies which enable value-added exchange of data. The supply chain become a cooperation of partners that agree on common goals and who brings specific strength to the overall value creation and value delivery system. Companies – like the container liner shipping industry participants implement new technologies such as e-platforms, the Internet of things, blockchain and other to be in compliance with this new paradigm. Smart container technology could become one of the tools for the mutual benefits of supply chain partici- pants. Nevertheless, companies need to take precise and well-considered decisions, to achieve this aim. Current research proposes the method of new technologies evaluation, based for example on the following Enterprise Architecture approaches, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) methodology and the Capability Driven Approach (CDA) in combination with Information Economics method, as a multi-criteria method of proposed IT investments evaluation.
